The St. Charles Tavern (Toronto)

Anchored by a clock tower built in the early 1870s, the St. Charles Tavern became a gay hot spot and the site of both revelry and resistance in the 1960s and 1970s, but closed in 1987. The clocktower remains preserved as part of a condo development. Part of a series of illustrations of lost queer bars, originally drawn for the LCBO's 2023 Pride party.
